A house concert is a musical event in an intimate setting in someone's home, consisting of singers/songwriters performing original, acoustic music. The seasoned musicians are performers who travel regionally / nationally / internationally and present songs in varying styles from traditional to contemporary folk, folk country, blues, jazz, and other genres to an audience of eager, quiet listeners. Although varied, the concerts may use a small PA system and stage, but either is acceptable and enjoyable. The beauty is that before the concert, during intermission, and following the performance, the attendees can mingle and talk with the musicians and generally enjoy themselves with other people who enjoy listening. The evening usually consists of two 45-minute sets with a 30-minute intermission. In order to attend, you must receive an invitation after contacting the host.
